FISHERIES (REVISION OF LOANS) ACT, 1931.
Definitions.
1.—In this Act—
the expression “the Minister” means the Minister for Lands and Fisheries;
the word “loan” means a loan either made, before the passing of this Act, by the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction for Ireland, the Congested Districts Board for Ireland, or the Minister for Fisheries for the provision of sea fishing boats, the provision of equipment for sea fishing boats, the provision of sea fishing gear, or any other purpose relating to sea fishing, or made, whether before or after the passing of this Act, by the Minister for any such purpose.
Remission or reduction of loans.
2.—(1) The Minister may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, remit all or any part of the balance outstanding at the passing of this Act on foot of any loan made before the passing of this Act.
(2) The Minister may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make any remission authorised by this section either unconditionally or subject to the performance by any person liable (whether as borrower, surety, or otherwise) for the balance the subject of such remission of such conditions as the Minister, with the consent aforesaid, shall think proper to impose and, in particular, conditions as to the making of a payment on foot of such balance within a specified time and the transfer to the Minister or any other person of any fishing boat, equipment, or gear.
Saving for liability of sureties.
3.—The remission by the Minister under this Act of part of the amount which is outstanding at the passing of this Act on foot of a loan shall not operate to relieve from liability for the residue of such amount any person who is liable as surety for the repayment of such loan.
Writing off of irrecoverable balances.
4.—The Minister for Finance, on being satisfied that the balance for the time being outstanding and unpaid of any loan (whether made before or after the passing of this Act) is irrecoverable, may authorise the Minister to write off such balance as an irrecoverable debt, and thereupon the Minister shall write off such balance accordingly.
Laying of statements before the Oireachtas.
5.—(1) The Minister shall lay before each House of the Oireachtas, at such times and from time to time as the Minister for Finance shall direct, statements showing the sums remitted or written off under this Act in respect of loans since (as the case may require) the passing of this Act or the next previous such statement.
(2) Every statement laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas under this section shall be in such form and contain such particulars as the Minister for Finance shall direct.
Short title.
6.—This Act may be cited as the Fisheries (Revision of Loans) Act, 1931.

2.—(1) Féadfaidh an tAire, le haontú an Aire Airgid, maitheamh do dhéanamh sa bhfarasbarr no in aon chuid den fharasbarr atá gan aisíoc, le linn an Achta so do rith, ar scór aon iasachta tugadh roimh an Acht so do rith.
(2) Féadfaidh an tAire, le haontú an Aire Airgid, maitheamh ar bith a húdaruítear leis an alt so do dhéanamh gan coinníoll no ar choinníoll go ndéanfaidh duine ar bith bheidh freagarthach (pe'ca mar iarrthach, urra, no eile é) sa bhfarasbarr a maithfear amhlaidh pé coinníollacha do chólíonadh is oiriúnach leis an Aire do chur air le haontú an Aire Airgid agus, go sonnrách, coinníollacha i dtaobh íocaíochta d'íoc ar scór an fharasbairr sin laistigh d'aimsir áirithe agus i dtaobh aon bháid, fearais, no gléis iascaigh d'aistriú chun an Aire no chun éinne eile.
Eisceacht maidir le freagarthacht urraí.
3.—Má mhaitheann an tAire, fén Acht so, cuid den tsuim atá gan aisíoc ar scór iasachta le linn an Achta so do rith, ní dhéanfaidh san duine ar bith bheidh freagarthach mar urra in aisíoc na hiasachta san do shaoradh o bheith freagarthach in iarsma na suime sin.
Farasbairr nách féidir do bhaint amach do scriosadh amach.
4.—Ar bheith sásta don Aire Airgid, maidir le hiasacht ar bith (pe'ca roimh an Acht so do rith no dá éis sin do tugadh í), nách féidir an farasbarr di bheidh gan aisíoc de thurus na huaire do bhaint amach, féadfa sé a údarú don Aire an farasbarr san do seriosadh amach mar fhiacha nách féidir do bhaint amach agus leis sin déanfaidh an tAire an farasbarr san do scriosadh amach dá réir sin.
Cuntaisí do leagadh fé bhráid an Oireachtais.
5.—(1) Leagfaidh an tAire fé bhráid gach Tighe den Oireachtas, pé tráthanna ordóidh agus o am go ham fé mar ordóidh an tAire Airgid, cuntaisí ina dtaisbeánfar na suimeanna do maitheadh no do scriosadh amach fén Acht so alos iasachtaí o ritheadh an tAcht so no ón gcuntas deiridh roimhe sin (pe'ca aca is gá sa chás).
(2) Gach cuntas a leagfar fé bhráid Tithe an Oireachtais fén alt so beidh sé i pé fuirm agus pé mion-innste ann ordóidh an tAire Airgid.
